Indigo
Prime are a services and consultancy group that was set up in
1996. In the early days we provide commercial software and business
solutions to the companies of Bristol, UK. We have now expanded
and boast software and services which are used by clients in
a wide range of areas. You'll find our systems in the largest
research and development establishment in Europe, government
agencies, and defence and security companies, as well as in
more traditional businesses involved in areas such as logistics
and information services.
But our systems are not just used in government or commercial
business, we offer our services to the small business and home
user. In fact, we are proud that a significant proportion of
our clients are still private individuals. Across the country
are individuals who use our systems and provide feedback that
helps us maintain the standard for which we have become famous.
Without the small business and private individual we would not
be where we are today.
Yes!
All software that is marked as 'Free to download' is exactly
that, free to download. Unlike other companies we do not make
a distinction as to a commercial or home user. If you are a
commercial user our software is still free for you to download,
just as it is for a home user. We also provide updates to this
software from the site.
Yes!
You can register for the service for free whether you are a
commercial company or a private individual. We do ask that you
fill out the registration form truthfully, as this helps us
with any support that you might require using this service or
any of our software.
You're
right, nothing normally is free and we are a commercial organisation.
However, we make our money elsewhere, from selling our business
and consultancy services. We also are very aware of where we
came from, and without the ability to download free software
in those early years we would not be here. So this is our way
of giving a little back to the software and information systems
community that helped us get where we are today - thanks guys!
The
upshot of this is that we have provided our software for free
since 1996 and would like things to stay that way, so long as
we can make enough profit elsewhere, by selling our services
and systems to cover our costs, we will keep things the way
they are. All we ask is that you limit our costs by respecting
our servers if you use them.
Do
you provide support?
Yes
we provide full support for all our services and systems. For
our free to download software you can get support through our
My Indigo service. We use email as our first point of contact,
but once we've assessed your support request we may choose to
contact you directly by phone (of course if you do not wish
this then we will respect that).
we
realise that some organisations such as large businesses require
a higher level of support than others, so we do offer a complete
consultancy service. In many cases we can still keep this service
free, but we reserve the right to charge for such a higher level
of consultancy and support. In those cases where we charge for
higher level support and consultancy we may require a MLA or
SLA (service level agreement) to be in place.
What
standards do you use to design your software?
We
design all our software using the TickIT standard as a guideline,
however, as some of our software is 'critical software' we use
many further checks and balances to maintain quality.
