What are Indigo backup & Indigo Grid?

Indigo Backup is a fully automated backup program for your PC that can backup to virtually any media you can see in Windows, from DVD to remote server. It will backup your files all the time in the background - you just set it up once and it'll continue on it's own. It uses open file backup techniques which allow it to backup your files even if other programs are using them and while you are working on them.

On it's own a backup program is fine for home or single user use. But what if you are a company with many users who all need to backup their files? You could set up a backup system which might well work for a while, but it would gradually go wrong over time. Worse than that, without feedback, you'd have no idea it had gone wrong until you actually needed the backed up data! A backup system should be both verifiable and maintainable if it is to be safe. Indigo Grid is an administration program for Indigo Backup that provides a central server control for all Indigo Backup clients. Indigo Grid constantly monitors groups of users on your network using Indigo backup and reports faults and statistics. In addition it allows you to maintain a network of Indigo backup clients from a central location. A true corporate backup solution.

What should I know about Indigo Backup?

Indigo Backup is a fully automated backup program for your PC that can backup to virtually any media you can see in Windows, from DVD to remote server. It uses open file backup techniques which allow it to backup your files even if other programs are using them and while you are working on them. You can encrypt or compress your backup. The encryption used in Indigo Trinity Backup is AES which is used by most government agencies and has been cleared by the US government for encryption of Top Secret information. You can also Clone your backup so that you can roll back through a number of different versions of your files. In addition, Indigo Trinity Backup has a CleanUp feature which synchronises your backed up files with your local copies to prevent your backup becoming clogged with old unused files which have been deleted from your PC. There are many other features including network locking and PC settings backup, for a full list see the software pages.

In addition, Indigo Backup can be linked as a client into Indigo Grid to allow administrative control of a whole network of Indigo Backup systems.

How can Indigo Backup be used in a commercial environment?

Indigo Backup should be linked to Indigo Grid in a commercial environment so that you can centrally monitor and control whole groups of Indigo Backup users. You should also consider using Network Locking, Default Setup Control and Locked User options. You should also consider which system architecture is most applicable to your organisation and how you would like to administer upgrades and local support. See our Tutorial pages for more information.

What should I know about Indigo Grid?

Indigo Grid is the corporate administration software for Indigo backup. It will allow you to centrally monitor and maintain a whole group (or multiple groups) of Indigo Backup users. You do not have to decide to impliment Indigo Grid control at the moment you impliment Indigo Backup, it's reverse compatible so you can impliment Indigo Backup and then at a later stage decide to impliment control of your systems through Indigo Grid. Similarly, if you start off with a full backup network of Indigo Backup clients controlled through Indigo grid and decide that this level of control is not required, you can remove Indigo Grid control without impacting your user's Indigo backup systems.
