Customised Rollout of Indigo Backup to Your Users

You should first have read Setting Up Indigo Backup For Corporate Networks Tutorial as this tutorial builds on the architecture listed in that example.

This tutorial gives an example of how to build a customised rollout of Indigo Backup for your users. It will show you how to automate the installation of the software with customised setup options and using tailored network locking (NIC.INI files), so that you can ensure all your users connect to you Backup Grid and Indigo Grid administration software automatically.

Important ! Read Me First

Indigo Trinity Grid automates the construction of customised rollout installations of Indigo Backup. You should consider using Indigo Trinity Grid to construct these rollout installations as it is easy to use. Information on using Indigo Trinity Grid for automated rollout is contained within the Indigo Trinity Grid help file that comes with the software. As the process of creating rollouts with Indigo Trinity Grid is automated it falls outside the scope of this tutorial and you should refer to the help file.

However, if you are using Indigo Grid v.1.x instead you can still create custom rollouts but you must build these manually. Showing you how to build manual custom rollouts is the purpose of this section.

This tutorial assumes that you have already read the sections on Default.ini files and NIC.ini files that are contained in the help file that came with your copy of Indigo Backup.

Creating the Custom Rollout - Links to Resources

As there are three resources available on this website which will show you how to construct an automated customised rollout we will not duplicate the tutorial here. Instead, please use these resources which are listed below.

View the Indigo Trinity Backup Online Help File available through the main tutorials menu of this site. See the 'Rolling Out to Users - Automatic Installation using the Default.INI' section of this help file for a full graphical tutorial on creating automated customised installations.

Download the Indigo Backup Software SDK from the My Indigo section of this site. This SDK contains a working example and a tutorial on setting up a automated customised installation.

Download the Indigo Trinity Backup Software from the My Indigo section of this site and after you've installed it, view the help that came with it. See the 'Rolling Out to Users - Automatic Installation using the Default.INI' section of this help file for a full graphical tutorial on creating automated customised installations. This is a duplicate of the online help but may be more convenient to some users.
