Recommended for groups of up to 3 users For groups of more than 3 users use either the Medium or Full Corporate setup
Suitable for all Indigo Backup versions

Main Drawback of this Architecture

This example architecture is only really suitable for standalone systems, servers and small groups of users. There is no monitoring of this system as Indigo Grid is not used, so you will have to visit each system on which Indigo Backup is installed to ensure system health and to update licenses. For a home system or a few users this is not an issue and the simplicity of the system is a huge benefit, but for larger groups of users, administration in this manner can become expensive and time consuming and a more complex system involving Indigo Grid should be used. As a result, for groups of more than 3 users we recommend using either the Medium or Full Corporate setup.

Indigo Backup Features You Should Consider Using

Network Locking - Specify subnets on which Indigo Backup may be active to prevent backup over low speed lines such as VPN
Remote Administration
Predictive Monitoring - Get advanced warning of any additional modifications that you may need to make to your backup network to keep it running smoothly

Example Architecture

The architecture for this type of Indigo Backup system is simple and easy to set up. Simply install a copy of Indigo Backup on each PC which you wish to backup and that's it! You can backup to server, zip, hard drive, CD, DVD, Flash Drive, etc. To backup to DVD's and CD's you will need to ensure that your version of windows supports CD/DVD writing Drag and Drop technology. Most Windows XP systems are Drag and Drop enabled, so this shouldn't be a problem. Finally if you are using CD/DVD's then you should first format you DVD and CD for drag and drop before trying to backup to it.
